Obviously this survey comes from California not Utah! (American Baptist) |
I find it unthinkable that there are “Christian Leaders” in my community that have embraced the Mormons into clergy groups and ministry groups–Law enforcement-Fire chaplains. These people do not know how to pray with people who are experiencing difficult things in their lives. They have “no personal” knowledge of Jesus Christ Savior. (Assemblies of God) |
General LDS lay people are well meaning but misguided but the higher in leadership the more you have to somehow twist the truth (Assembly of God) |
We don’t teach anti Mormon literature. We present Christ in a positive fashion without trying to crush doctrine. Often a LDS person will get saved and attend regularly, but may hold on to LDS doctrine for many years before letting go. (Assembly of God) |
I am offended that you are masquerading as Christians when you are a Mormon Group. You asked if we were going to have any meetings in the future so you can come and spy on us. (Baptist) |
I have viewed your videotapes etc and tried to check out names from book of Mormon with Holy Bible which is much older and things don’t match up. Just as a child should have some look of family likeness BOM should likewise resemble Bible. It teaches good works, but non-believers do the same. We are not saved by good works but by the blood of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God sent by God himself to save, be the Salvation of all men. Acts 16:31-32 No other way to be saved. (Baptist) |
It is disturbing to see some evangelicals tolerating Mormonism as if it were simply another denomination. (Baptist) |
SBC put out a good video “The Mormon Puzzle” that featured various LDS members in their own words. Good to assure members that our account of LDS is factual and fair not biased. Their history judges them false, but their contemporary membership overlooks their own history as irrelevant to their present truth claims. This poses a curious problem for confronting them. (Baptist – Southern) |
Mormons, as well as many fundamentalist pick and choose scripture out of context to prove a point. At the same time ignoring points intended to be taken literally such as the real presence in the Eucharist. Many Mormons would never consider looking outside their faith tradition for fear of being disowned from family. Even members who are older adults fear loss of family love if they look outside the fold.(Catholic) |
Interested in knowing more about your organization (Christian Reformed) |
Christian Scientists are taught to love God; to acknowledge and believe in the healing truth as taught by Christ, Jesus and to leave other people free to worship as they please. After all, we’re all God’s children aren’t we? (Christian Science) |
(Along with the survey the Pastor sent a brochure offering his services to give a seminar on Mormonism) (Church of Christ) |
It’s good that you are seeking to learn about awareness of the LDS cult. They are actually polytheists who believe that you can become a god, and who do not believe that Jesus has always been God, as John 1:1 teaches…. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless your efforts to expose error and advance the truth of God’s word. (Church of Christ) |
[Ministering to Mormons] is best served if you continue to bring conversations back to “what Jesus has done for me.” Mormons always emphasize “what the church has done for me. (Congregational) |
Who are you? What’s your denomination? (Episcopalian) |
(Mailed the Evangelical Mormon Outreach Quarterly to us.) (Evangelical Free) |
35% of our church is former Mormon (Evangelical Free) |
While the LDS organization is a Cult I would suppose that some have a faith in the true God in spite of the Organization (Greek Orthodox) |
I would not show “The Godmakers” to a Mormon (Independent Baptist) |
Do you have a web site? I’d like some more information about your organization (Lutheran) |
LDS top leadership is very deceptive regarding their nature and history. LDS teens join Christian clubs at area high schools, something the teens must address. (Lutheran) |
We walk a fine line since our members sometimes have family members in the LDS church. We are open to talking but bashing is counterproductive. Some LDS people have joined our church 40 years after (coming?) (Lutheran) |
As any outreach, it has to be done in love. (Nondenominational) |
Go Get ’em! (Another suggested book was the Original publication of the Book of Mormon)(Nondenominational) |
The Mormon church is trying to make themselves accepted as “Christian” which they are not. They present themselves on TV and the media as though they were just another Christian denomination which they are not. They are a cult and non-Christian. (Nondenominational) |
I have met in Utah a few Latter Day Saints who show the love of God in their lives and whose example humbles us all. However, I must always say “yes, but” with Mormonism. They are caught in an enormous contradiction. They complain, “Why don’t others recognize us as Christians when our very Church name has Jesus Christ in it? Yet if they are Christians why do they strive so passionately to convert other Christians to their own? They say “Accept us as brothers in the faith” while they seek to take others out of their faith. Either we are all Christians together, or we are Christians and they are not, or they are and we aren’t. But I see them saying one thing and doing another. Despite the saintliness of many Mormons at the local level, I fear their national level is opportunistic, colonialist, unethical, ruthless, totally self-serving. Of theological doctrine, I have heard that Mormon theology resembles more than anything else and early Church Christian/mystery cult heresy. To me, that rings true. (Presbyterian) |
Jesus said, “these who do the will of God are my brother, sister and mother. But Mormons do not embrace a Trinitarian Theology so Jesus is special but not thought of as the only Begotten Son of God. They may be Christians but not in the orthodox sense because they so often do the will of God (good works.) (Presbyterian) |
Mormon theology clearly is different from Christian. They think so too or they wouldn’t need to convert Christians or rebaptize them (Presbyterian) |
There is a subtle threat to Christianity because LDS claims create a confusion of definitions AND any statement against them is fuel for their claim of persecution. (Presbyterian) |
Few Mormons buy the whole context of Mormon doctrine. They stay for values, morality etc. (Southern Baptist) |
It is interesting to me to see how people can claim the believe the Book of Mormon yet their faith is not consistent with the Book of Mormon. Most of the Doctrines come from the D&C or the P. of G.P. but not from the B.O.M. or the Bible. (Southern Baptist) |
LDS encouraged a woman friend to stay in a physically abusive marriage. She left the church and is happy. (United Methodist) |
